Black Qiraji Battle Tank Retirement?

February 7, 2009

Myself and Cablin have been working on getting the Red, Yellow, Blue and Green Qiraji Battle Tanks from Ahn’Qiraj, since it classes as mounts so weblackq can work on getting the Albino Drake. They can only be ridden inside the instance, so you wont ever see them outside unless Blizzard changes that.

Its not that hard to duo, I just keep Lifebloom on him and since he’s an awesome tank anyway, I can usually help with a little DPS.

Anyway.

We knew the Black Qiraji Battle Tank was near impossible, so it doesn’t really bother our mount count that its being taken out. But its still a shame! The Black Tank is a typical ‘oldbie’ status symbol, and now even the most intrepid mount collectors can’t get them;

Going forward, the gates of Ahn’Qiraj will start out open on all new realms that are created. While we recognize that this is a unique event, we feel that the complexity of this event can cause various issues that negatively impacts a player’s game play experience. By automatically opening the gates and allowing immediate access to the Ahn’Qiraj instances, we would like to promote the higher level content that is available as well as ensure a smooth overall experience for players on these new realms.

This means that you can’t participate in the event itself, from which the Battle Tank is a reward. I know a few people who actually attempted to get the mounts by playing a new character on a new realm, so its not unheard of. These bugs are desirable!

The Black Qiraji Battle Tank will no longer be available with this change to the AQ event.

So, there you have it folks. People who have the Black Qiraji Battle Tank? Treat him/her well and keep them polished! (Thank you to Warcraft Mounts for the information!)

Winters Veil.

wintersveil

A long time, no update! Me and Cablin have been working out little night elf fingers to the bone on game, getting gear for heroics and getting gear for Cablins new spec. Yes. Its official. He’s going tank. Its been a long time in coming, and he’s finally decided. He has a pretty sweet tanking set ready, but a few pieces are missing so we’ll work on that over the next few days.

We’ve also been working on the Winters Veil achievements. We currently have them all done, aside from Crashin & Thrashin. They were easy enough, we even duo’d the Nexus boss for her hat, with no problems at all even as a Moonkin and a Tree. Fun!

I must say, I was really daunted at the prospect of doing heroics in Northrend… I’m unsure why. Perhaps the BC heroics when I was hitting 70 scared the hell out of me. But I’ve had fun with the Northrend ones! We’ve managed to do a few so far;

  • Utgarde Keep
  • Violet Hold
  • The Nexus

Cablin keeps trying to ease me into others, so we’ll see how it goes. I’m sitting at around 1400 spellpower unbuffed these days, and up to 1600 buffed with food and a flask. I got taken into Naxx by the guild a week or so ago and got Infection Repulser, which will hold out until I can get the crafted mace.

A new feature on Moonfire.org – the Gallery. I collect artwork of Gwyn and Cablin, and I thought I’d showcase some of it on the blog. Over the next few days I’ll upload what I have, and add more as I get it.

mail_gmiconHappy 4th Anniversary, Blizzard! Another late post, but hey, I got there in the end. Thank you for the gift – he’s adorable. I needed a new fishing companion (Cablin snores too loud) and you came through for me. Much love to you, Blizz!

Well, we hit 80 a night ago. The grind itself wasn’t so hard – I expected it to be a lot tougher. The quests as I mentioned before, are really interactive – we ended up hitting 80 with 2 zones left to quest in. That means Storm Peaks, and Ice Crown (incidentally, the 2 areas we wanted to do most) are left for us to leisurely stroll through and quest when we feel that way.

At the moment, were trying to get into the Northrend instances, since most of them are quite short and easy on the brain. We haven’t got onto heroics just yet, but were not too far off. We managed to get through some yesterday, and had a lot of fun while doing them-

  • Drak’Tharon Keep

A very easy place to heal as a resto druid, although the last boss was a bit of a blur since nobody explainedcritterbites we got turned into skeletons on that last fight. Never mind, we got through it while improvising. The only other pain I remember is Trollgore using Corpse Explosion frequently – though a Rejuvenation kept the DPS and Tank up pretty easy, it was a shock at first.

Did I mention how much fun it is to go through an instance with a bag full of Critter Bites? Ha! My army of Beetles, Spider and Rats was growing by the second. Boo that they only last for 3 minutes, but…

  • Gundrak

Another Troll-themed instance. Another instance where nothing really magical happens in terms of healing. (Even though I say nothing really sets the instance aside in healing terms, doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy it as a whole – I’m just used to tricky bosses). The last boss loved Impaling Cablin on his horn, which makes me think that Rhinos don’t like birds sat on their horns after all…

  • The Oculus

This, was a ‘fun’ instance! With a group that listens I assure you, you’ll have a whale of a time – but if your like us and get a mage who picks the green drake to DPS, even though the colours of the drakes have been explained a hundred times over, then your in for a long fight. Of course, the mage died. Then, couldn’t keep the tank drake healed (the tank drake was Cablin, our tank wanted to tank with a DPS drake). Me and the mage switched towards the end of the instance, after wiping on the boss first time around.

If your on the green drake, make sure you keep Leeching Poison on the Ley Guardian 3 times. Then heal the tank. Then Leeching Poison again. Then heal the tank. Its really easy once you know how, I promise.

  • The Culling of Stratholme

I had. So much fun. Doing this instance. I implore you to do the same. Its hard to do the quests knowing the outcome, but its a lot of fun – I’m really looking forward to this on heroic!

chromie-time1So other than questing, we did get quite a lot done over the past few days. Again, I’m sorry we couldn’t blog before now – its been manic with Cablins computer having to be reformatted and me being ill. I’m really happy our druids hit 80 however, it means we can settle back and gear them up (again), get reputations up (again!) and give attention to our neglected alts. I hope our American lovelies had a fantastic Thanksgiving, and I’m looking forward to sharing Winters Veil and its luscious treats with you. The guild is moving ahead to Naxxramas tonight, although me and Cablin aren’t going since we want to get geared up beforehand – good luck Apollyon!

Computer woes.

November 26, 2008

Expect more blogging closer to the weekend – as Cablins computer needed to be reformatted, we currently don’t have access to our graphics. Boo.

On a good note, were nearly at 77 as of last night. Hurray! We’ll soon have our flying mounts! I’m loving some of the equipment were getting from quests, I must say. I was a little lost when the Wrath patch was implimented, with Spellpower taking over my yummy Bonus Healing. These days I tend to look at equipment, and if it has better Spirit and Spellpower I’ll generally replace my item. Heres hoping that I’ll have some cute looking Resto gear before my leveling is done – I hate my rock on a stick!
